Scientific clinical studies are the indispensable prerequisite for a reliable medical device. Especially when it comes to such an extraordinarily important topic as the heart rhythm. And not the least because it is about large numbers: Preventicus Heartbeats has been installed on more than 170,000 smartphones, so far, about 2.3 million heart rhythm analyzes have been carried out, about 2,000 per day (as of March 2018).

 

In the following, we summarize the most important clinical trial results of recent months on Preventicus Heartbeats (as well as Preventicus Nightwatch). Recent international studies (DETECT AF PRO and WATCH AF) with more than 1,300 study participants have shown, that Preventicus Heartbeats detects atrial fibrillation with an accuracy of more than 95%. The positive predictive value was more than 99% (that means: when atrial fibrillation has been detected by Preventicus Heartbeats, this was subsequently confirmed in more than 99% of cases by a cardiologist by ECG).
